JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator to support our growing supply chain operations. This role is ideal for an organised individual with strong communication skills and an interest in procurement, supplier management, and stock control.  A qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related field would be advantageous.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Purchasing Operations

  • Raise and process Purchase Orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with and manage suppliers to ensure goods and services are delivered on time, in full, and at the agreed cost.
  • Monitor and review stock levels to ensure adequate supply across the business.
  • Track deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and support goods-in processes.

Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with internal teams including Design Engineers, the Purchasing Manager, Project Managers, Fit-Out Teams, and the wider Supply Chain.
  • Provide a high-quality and efficient service to stakeholders, adapting to business needs and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Management

  • Identify potential new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier bids and quotations, comparing price, quality, delivery performance, and value for money.
  • Monitor key supplier performance and escalate or resolve issues as needed.

Cost & Market Analysis

  • Analyse market trends, pricing movements, and industry changes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities such as supplier consolidation, negotiation, and value engineering.

Inventory Management

  • Support internal teams by monitoring and managing inventory levels.
  • Help maintain optimal stock availability while minimising holding and carrying costs.

Procurement Planning

  • Collaborate with project and operational teams to forecast demand and develop short- and long-term procurement plans aligned with business needs.

Data & Performance Analysis

  • Track and analyse purchasing data to identify trends, cost drivers, supplier performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in developing reports and insights to support strategic procurement decisions.

General Duties

  • Undertake any additional tasks as required by the business to support the Supply Chain function.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Ideal candidate will have Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.

 

MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management

MSc Logistics, Data Analytics and Supply Chain Management

MSc Global Supply Chain Management

 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

 

  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.

 

  • Analytical mindset with good attention to detail.

 

  • Proficient in Excel and modern business systems (ERP/MRP experience beneficial).

 

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 16.30 and Friday 08.00 to 14.00 (37.5 hours per week)

 

Pay Rate: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
